Ancestors The Humankind Odyssey

The Game Awards 2018: Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Gameplay Trailer Shown and Release Date Announced

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey was officially revealed at The Game Awards 2018. The title, led by Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Désilets, explores the evolution of humanity’s ancestors on the continent of Africa.

Ancestors was originally teased at E3 2015, but was quiet until a teaser trailer in 2017. The third-person survival game is set in an open world over the course of several million year, and sees players controlling archaic human-like creatures. Over the course of the game players learn to use tools, hunt in packs, and evolve alongside their characters. The open-world game is scheduled for release next year on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Désilets was fired by Ubisoft in 2013, and went on to found Panache Digital Games in 2014. Ancestors has been described as a non-violent experience, and it will be published by Take-Two’s Private Division label.

Désilets was at The Game Awards to reveal a new Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey gameplay trailer. More information on the game can be found at its official website.
