Ghost of Tsushima gameplay trailer and release window revealed at The Game Awards

At The Game Awards tonight, we finally got to see a new gameplay trailer of Ghost of Tsushima. The title was announced during Paris Games Week in October 2017, but we haven’t seen a lot of it besides a small demo at E3 2018. As a first-party Sony game, fans have had their eyes on Ghosts of Tsushima since its announcement, and with the critical acclaim other SIE titles like God of War and The Last of Us has received, the title has high expectations to live up to.

Ghost of Tsushima is set on Tsushima Island in the year 1274. You control the last samurai, Jin Sakai, during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. The game revolves around Jin learning a new fighting style, the way of the Ghost, so he can defeat the Mongols and ensure Japan’s independence. The game has a firm footing in history, Tsushima Island is a real place that was invaded in the 13th century by the Mongols, but will also include fictional elements.

The trailer continues the teaser shown during State of Play earlier this week, which had Jin, clad in a oni mask, facing off against the Mongol invaders.

Ghost of Tsushima releases Summer 2020 exclusively on PS4.
