A new Dark Souls Trilogy Box collector’s edition has popped up on the Japanese Dark Souls website. It looks like it’s exclusive to the PlayStation 4 (at least for now), and includes all the Dark Souls games (including the upcoming Dark Souls Remastered) and all their DLC in a handsome package.
The games that come with the Dark Souls Trilogy Box are Dark Souls Remastered, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, and Dark Souls 3: The Fire Fades Edition. The box also includes the two-disc soundtracks from each of the games. All of these discs are presented in a special case that holds all of them together and folds out into six compartments.
The Dark Souls Trilogy Box set also includes a set of bookends, one with a knight standing and the other with the series’ iconic campfire. You’ll get three books to place between them as well. An attractively bound item encyclopedia for each of the games includes information and illustrations of the objects you find in your adventures.
Rounding out the box set is a collection of memorial art. You get 10 art cards and a frame to display them in. I always wonder why collector’s editions that have art cards don’t ever include a frame or method of display, and it’s good to see that Bandai Namco provides a way to show them off.
The Dark Souls Trilogy Box will release on May 24, 2018, the same day that Dark Souls Remastered releases in Japan. So far the box is only available for PS4 with no Xbox One, Windows, or Switch versions announced. According to the Dark Souls website, the set will retail for 49,800 yen which is roughly $447.20. A Western version of the box hasn’t been announced yet, but given the massive fanbase for the series here, we’ll likely see it sometime in the future.
