Dark Souls Remastered Switch Release Date

Dark Souls Remastered Release Date: Remaster Announced for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Bandai Namco announced Dark Souls Remastered in conjunction with today’s Nintendo Direct Mini, and this will mark the first time the series has made an appearance on a Nintendo console. The new Dark Souls remaster will include dynamic 4K resolution support on PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, and PC, and will presumably feature upgraded textures and lighting.

Dark Souls Remastered Multiplayer

Mentioned in Bandai Namco’s press release, Dark Souls Remastered will include nine new online covenants to find that will motivate online interaction between players. Up to six players can join each other online to either play cooperatively or competitively throughout the quest.

Dark Souls Remastered Crossplay

With Dark Souls Remastered releasing on four platforms, it would be cool if crossplay were implemented in some way. However, as of right now there’s been no announcement concerning crossplay between platforms, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Dark Souls Remastered Release Date

The release date for Dark Souls Remastered is May 25, 2018. On that day the game will be available for all platforms.

What’s Different in Dark Souls Remastered?

So far the only thing we know for sure is improved in Dark Souls Remastered is the framerate and resolution. That being said, the Switch resolution and framerate will be lower compared to other platforms. While PC, PS4 Pro, and Xbox One X players will be able to enjoy 4K, the Switch will run at 1080p and 30fps in docked mode, and likely a lower resolution when in portable mode.

The game comes with the Artorias of the Abyss DLC, but no new content has been announced.

We’ll provide more details as they become available.
