“SHARD” is a noun used to describe “a piece of broken ceramic, metal, glass, or rock, typically having sharp edges.” (via Oxford Languages) It’s a word that isn’t commonly used in everyday conversation, so it might not immediately jump out to players. Users will have to think outside of the box a little for this one.
“SHARD” can be tricky to work out because of the “H,” “R,” and “D.” However, for those with a good starting word like “ARISE,” multiple letters should successfully be revealed in the first guess. Then it’s just a case of working your way through the rarer letters. “S” is common, so should be found pretty quickly, as is “R.” It’s probably the “D” that will cause the most trouble.
Knocking out letters is easier for those who aren’t playing on Hard Mode, as that limits guesses by including confirmed letters.
