Here’s everything you need to know about what time Tarantulas can be found in the first Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch game.

  • Tarantulas can be found in Animal Crossing: New Horizons between the nighttime hours of 7 pm and 4 am.
    • Times are relevant to your location, so you don’t need to account for any other timezone(s).
  • Spiders will only spawn between the months of November and April.
  • Even during that six-month period, Tarantulas are a rare spawn that you won’t encounter too frequently.

Outside of the real-world timeframes mentioned above, you won’t encounter Tarantulas in Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Nintendo Switch. That could be a good or a bad thing, depending on who you ask.

Although they can be scary, facing your fears and capturing Tarantulas in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a great way to earn Bells. In fact, lots of players specifically seek out a location dubbed “Spider Island” in order to earn themselves a really big payday. With Tarantulas selling for an impressive 8,000 Bells a piece, it doesn’t take catching many to line your pockets.

In order to catch a spider without getting a nasty sting (which leads to you being knocked out and the creature escaping), approach it slowly while holding the “A” button to ready your net. When the Tarantula rears up as if it’s about to attack, stop moving and wait for it to return to its normal state. At that point, it’s safe to start approaching again.
