Cult of the Lamb Tips: 5 Things Beginners Need to Know Before Playing

Cult of the Lamb is a surprisingly deep roguelike/management sim whose multi-layered design could leave some players scratching their heads, especially when it comes to “optimizing” a playthrough. Thankfully, I’ve now beaten the game and from my mistakes I’ve put together five tips that beginners need to know before playing Cult of the Lamb on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch.

1: Don’t miss the daily Sermons

Daily Sermons are the main way to level up your little lamb character. As you do Sermons, more powerful weapons and Curses become available to you.

As soon as a new day begins, prioritize getting a Sermon in before doing anything else!

2: Handle sickness quickly

Sickness can devastate an entire cult if left untreated. The game will often alert you to any illness in the camp and it’s important that you head there as soon as possible to fix it.

First, tell any sick cultists to go straight to bed. They must remain there until they have fully recovered. Next, clean up any sick or poop to make sure others don’t become ill from it.

3: Invest in Lumberyards and Stone Mines early

Getting useful resources like lumber and stone passively is huge for constructing new buildings and carrying out regular Rituals.

Spending those early Divine Inspirations on Lumberyards and Stone Mines will go a long way.

4: Get the extra life

When you get the chance to unlock the Ressurection Crown Offering, prioritize it over everything else. This effectively gives players an extra life.

While, yes, you will have to sacrifice someone in order to revive yourself, it’s very easy to replace cult members that get killed.

This perk is essential for the endgame grind through the limitless levels.

5: Don’t stress!

While it can seem intense at times when illness and death are hitting your camp hard, Cult of the Lamb is a relatively chill game and it’s always possible to rebuild the cult and fill it with new members.

In other news, the Xbox Gamescom 2022 livestream lineup has been announced and will include Obsidian’s Pentiment. Spider-Man Remastered for PC is “the most speculator version of the Web-Slinger.” Check out the GameRevolution review of Cult of the Lamb to learn how it’s “Animal Crossing gone evil.”
