Rumor: Assassin’s Creed Comet is a Direct Sequel to Black Flag, Set in New York

Assassin's Creed Comet, the rumored upcoming last-gen entry in Ubisoft's massively popular franchise, will reportedly be set in the great state of New York following the events of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

According to a report from GameBlog, the game will star a Templar sailor named Shay, and serve as a direct sequel to last year's entry.

Kotaku's sources have since "verified" the rumor, adding that Comet will be set in 1758 New York. Not only that, but iconic characters from previous installments, including the infamous Haytham Kenway, will make an appearance.

Ubisoft has yet to verify any of this, so take it all with a grain of salt. That said, the recently-announced Assassin's Creed Unity was prematurely outed just last week, so there's a good chance these reports hold some weight.
