Pokemon Legends Arceus Shiny Starters

Pokemon Legends: Arceus leaks suggest Shiny starters are locked

Leaks are suggesting that Pokemon Legends: Arceus Shiny Starters may be locked, so players can’t reset the latest Pokemon game on Switch to get one of these rare Shiny variants. Much as they have been in recent games in the series, such as in last year’s Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Pokemon Legends: Arceus Shiny hunting is a little more difficult since players have to try a little harder to get them — if the new leaks are accurate.

Are Pokemon Legends: Arceus Shiny Starters locked?

Shiny Starter Pokemon appear to be locked in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, at least according to several leakers.

While the latest Pokemon RPG isn’t due out until tomorrow, a few people seem to have either early copies or access to information about the game. Leakers such as CentroLeaks and Abyzab say that the rare Shiny variants of Pokemon are locked as Starters, based on information taken from either using cheats or datamining Arceus’ source code.

All of this means that determined players cannot keep resetting Pokemon Legends: Arceus in order to get the rarer Shiny Pokemon as Starters, as was possible in earlier Pokemon games. Instead, Shiny Pokemon can only be found out in the wild, possibly with the usual massive odds of 1 in 4096 — although there may be in-game ways to increase this.

Furthermore, according to Abyzab, the game’s code suggests that Legendary Pokemon like Dialga and Palkia and Mythical Pokemon like Darkrai, Shamin, Manaphy, and Phione are also locked, so they will be harder to get too. Of course, with Pokemon Legends: Arceus out tomorrow, very soon players will be able to find out for themselves.
