A number of new Pokemon Legends: Arceus leaks and rumors have appeared online that point towards a lot of changes coming in the ambitious new open-world Pokemon game, including the possible removal of classic series features such as abilities, held items, and Pokemon breeding. The Pokemon Legends: Arceus rumors even suggest how to capture Arceus itself, which sounds like it will take a very long time.
What are the Pokemon Legends: Arceus leaks and rumors?
The various new leaks and rumors have mostly come from leaker Riddler Khu on Twitter (via CentroLeaks) and these suggest some sweeping changes coming in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Most notably, the leaks say that the regular series features abilities, held items, and breeding have all been removed. They also note that Arceus itself cannot be caught until players complete the entire Hisui Pokédex, which will obviously take a long time to do — with the Hisuian form of Goomy being noted as particularly difficult to obtain.
The leaks also say that Arceus will be much more action-orientated, with all Legendary Pokemon in the game being presented in the form of boss battles. A previous Nintendo Direct has made it clear that Pokemon can finally attack the trainers, so any fans used to the slower turn-based Pokemon RPGs as opposed to games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild may struggle with the new encounters.
Summary of recent Pokémon Legends: Arceus leaks via @Riddler_Khu
– You will need to complete the Hisui Pokédex to catch Arceus, will take a long time.
– New stats system; IVs still exist but aren't used to calculate stats anymore.
– No abilities, no held items, no breeding.— Centro LEAKS (@CentroLeaks) December 26, 2021
Of course, the reason these leaks are gaining traction with the community is that Nintendo and Game Freak still haven’t revealed that much about Arceus, despite the game coming out later this month. There are still questions about co-op, trades, and multiplayer that haven’t been properly answered, so all the fans have are rumors right now. On the brighter side, a number of new screenshots have been captured from a Japanese advertisement for the game, so here’s a small new look at what to expect. As for the leaks, take everything with a grain of salt as always.
