Like the previous few generations of games, Pokemon Legends: Arceus will introduce new regional forms. These Pokemon usually feature a themed design and new typing and moves. Unfortunately, we’ve only got a chance to see a few Hisui region variations so far, but we’ll add more to the list as they’re revealed.
What are the new Hisuian forms in Pokemon Legends: Arceus?
So far, we’ve seen four Hisuian region forms revealed in Pokemon Legends:
- Braviary
- Growlithe
- Zoroak
- Zorua
There are also three region-specific evolutions:
- Basculin -> Basculegion
- Scyther -> Kleavor
- Stantler -> Wyrdeer
We also got a bit of info about the behavior of the Hisuian Forms from the official website.
Basculegion
Type: Water/Ghost
When the souls of its fallen brethren possess a Basculin, it can evolve into Basculegion. This Pokemon draws on the resolve of these souls to survive and is relentless when angered.
In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, players will be able to ride Basculegion on Hisui’s waterways.
Hisuian Growlithe
Type: Fire/Rock
It has longer fur that helps it thrive in cooler regions. The horn on its head is made of rock and is sharp but fragile. These Pokemon are territorial and usually work in pairs. They haven’t been around people in a long time, which means they’re wary and don’t trust easily.
Hisuian Braviary
Type: Psychic/Flying
In the winter, this Pokemon flies in from the north. It’s larger than typical Braviary and tends to be a loner. Hisuian Bravery can imbue its screeches with psychic power, which can overwhelm Pokemon. It then uses its talons to attack its weakened enemies.
The player will gain the ability to glide across Hisui using Braviary at some point in the game.
Kleavor
Type: Bug/Rock
Special minerals in Hisui cause Scyther to evolve into Kleavor. This Pokemon is covered in stone, and those that have been in a lot of fights will show chips across their bodies. It uses its ax-like arms to both deal damage to its opponents and marks its territory by carving symbols into trees.
Wyrdeer
Type: Normal/Psychic
Wyrdeer is one of the Hisuian people’s beasts of burden, and their lives wouldn’t be possible without it. Garments made with its shed fur are highly prized, and it’s a much-beloved Pokemon. The black orbs on the bases of its antlers generate psychic energy which can be incredibly devastating.
Wyrdeer will be one of the player’s mounts in-game and can be ridden across Hisui.
Zorua and Zoroak
Type: Ghost/Normal
These Pokemon haven’t been given detailed info yet. They were revealed in a teaser video, but we’re not sure what’s changed about them yet except for their physical appearance, which is white and red instead of black, and that they’ll be Ghost/Normal types.
There are sure to be more Hisuian forms to be announced as we get closer to the launch of Pokemon Legends: Arceus on January 28, 2022.
