The latest Dungeons & Dragons co-op game is nearly here, and apparently there will be a massive Dark Alliance day one patch to fix a critical game-breaking bug. This first Dark Alliance patch is intended to fix one of the missions in the game and comes in at a sizeable 15 GB, but without the day one update players will not be able to pass the mission. So what mission and issues do the Dark Alliance 1.02 patch fix?
What mission does the Dark Alliance day one patch fix?
The day one patch for Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance brings the game up to version 1.02 and officially brings with it balancing improvements and various bug fixes and hotfixes, with a size of around 15 GB on all systems — PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
However, according to MP1st, who say they spoke with the developers, the size of the patch is entirely due to it having to fix the mission Kelvin Act 2. Before the patch, Dark Alliance players would not be able to complete this mission or continue on through the game.
Dark Alliance will certainly require this patch when the game releases tomorrow, so anyone buying a physical release of the game will have to upgrade and likely will not be able to play offline. Dark Alliance can potentially be played single-player and offline, but it’s probably best to install this patch before trying to continue playing the game that way, otherwise offline players may not be able to progress.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is the next game in the series previously known as Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance, which presumably got a name change to separate it from the upcoming Baldur’s Gate 3. It was revealed back in 2019 at the Game Awards and is out tomorrow, but sadly as of right now it’s not available on Switch.
