After months of anticipation, it is finally upon us: some Mortal Kombat 11 Spawn gameplay. As promised, NetherRealm revealed the comic book character’s trailer during the Final Kombat tournament going on today complete with his Fatal Blow and just a sample of one of his Fatalities, which you can see in the gameplay trailer below. While Spawn was the star of the show, NetherRealm is about to show another trailer for the animated film, Mortal Kombat: Scorpion’s Revenge.
The character is still coming to Kombat Pack owners on March 17 and March 24 for everyone else. However, the trailer also revealed the skin pack coming alongside Spawn himself. Called the Matinee Skin Pack, it will come with a few costumes for Erron Black, Kotal Kahn, and Jacqui and, if any of the other skin packs are any indication, be $5.99. The trailer also showed the Hellspawn skin for Jacqui, but that will likely be exclusive to Kombat Pack owners.

Spawn is the last character to come in the game’s first Kombat Pack after Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, The Terminator, Sindel, and The Joker have come before him. This leads the door open for Kombat Pack 2, but NetherRealm has not hinted at its arrival. However, it is almost assuredly coming, not only because both Mortal Kombat X and Injustice 2 both had two sets of DLC fighter packs, but also because of the leaks.
As has been the case with the characters and announcer packs, players have datamined information surrounding Sheeva, Ash from Evil Dead, and Fujin, the latter of which can even be heard within the game (but WB keeps claiming the videos). These leaks come along with alleged upcoming stages (Deadpool and Soul Chamber) and Friendship finishers, but those are probably coming with the inevitable ultimate edition within the next few months.
This trailer was shown to a mostly empty arena because NetherRealm didn’t allow in the live audience and canceled the last chance qualifier out of fears surrounding the coronavirus. Would-be attendees will get a full refund, but NetherRealm only made this decision a day before the last chance qualifier and two days before the actual tournament.
