38 Studios Website Comes Back Online With Strange Message

Last year 38 Studios went down in smoldering hot flames after the not quite good enough sales of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. It was a complete mess that led to many members of its team not receiving pay and the state of Rhode Island liquidating the studio's assets. Needless to say the studio died a swift death… or so we thought.

The former website for 38 Studios has been revived in a move that can only be explained as supernatural. Whoever brought it back up promptly posted the following message after gamers took notice:

Amid the maelstrom of recent press, we realize it’s unlikely you’re here to visit the new occupants; namely, us. Meh. Our apologies.

That being said, if you’re looking for updates on the former tenants: Curt Shilling, Green Monster Games, etc. Try here.

Otherwise, it’s business as usual. Please excuse the mess while we move in.
Is it a prankster? Or is the studio back to recover its losses with a new idea? The amount of damage incurred from Kingdoms of Amalur was significant enough to make the latter an unlikely candidate. But we've seen crazier things happen in the gaming industry.

What do you think is going on here?
