Sonic Mania Plus

Sonic Mania Plus Launches on July 17th

Sonic fans better grab their running shoes, because when Sonic Mania Plus launches on July 17th they’ll be sprinting to the store to grab their chosen edition. The release of the new, enhanced version of Sonic Mania will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The original version of Sonic Mania has already sold one million units worldwide, yet that hasn’t stopped SEGA from providing new content for the beloved game and its fans. In the tweet you can see below, SEGA announces a handful of the new features that have been added, as well as provide some pretty great music to listen to while you watch.

There’s a lot to love about the new content that SEGA has provided to this retro side-scroller, such as exciting characters like Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel. While there is already a variety for who you can play in the original Sonic Mania, we’ll never say no to more characters to spice up our gameplay. What’s more, Sonic Mania Plus will also include a Four-Player Competition mode that will allow you to play with and against your friends and an Encore mode that will take the game’s stages and mix them together to create something new.

News of an upgrade to the best reviewed Sonic game in years will certainly please some fans out there, especially when it adds such fantastic features. It has the potential to attract new players too, which is never a bad thing.
