Detective Pikachu Amiibo is a Must-Have Addition to Your Collection

A new Detective Pikachu Amiibo has been unveiled, and the sheer size of this thing makes it a crucial addition to any hardcore Amiibo fan’s collection.

The Detective Pikachu Amiibo was unveiled alongside a trailer for the game of the same name, which will release in North America on March 23rd, 2018. The game was initially launched in Japan in March 2016, with The Pokemon Company now deciding to bring it to the west following the announcement of the Detective Pikachu movie. Weirdly, Ryan Reynolds has been cast in the role of the titular hero.

Detective Pikachu will be available for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, which includes the 2DS. As for the Amiibo, it’s nearly double the size of the standard Pikachu figure, clocking in at nearly 14cm. If you add this to your collection, it’ll certainly stand out from the crowd.

According to The Pokemon Company, the Detective Pikachu Amiibo will be used to find “Pika Prompts” throughout the game, which will allow them to uncover hidden clues. Detective Pikachu will see players assuming the role of Tim Goodman, who teams with the Pokemon investigator to solve the case of Tim’s missing father. Detective Pikachu is described as a “gruff, coffee-drinking” Pokemon.
