Detective Pikachu Switch sequel or port will conclude the story

Hot off the heels of the hit film, a Detective Pikachu Switch sequel or port is in the works. During the Pokemon 2019 Press Conference, the President and CEO of the Pokemon Company Tsunekazu Ishihara announced this mysterious game. It is unclear whether or not this is a remaster, port, or a sequel to the 3DS game but the “conclusion of this story” will be coming to the Nintendo console.

The original 3DS game ended on a cliffhanger, which is what Ishihara cited during his presentation. He also gave another vague statement on the upcoming game.

“I hope fans will look forward to seeing a different take on the ending to the story of what you saw in theaters,” he said via a translator.

We’ll likely hear more about the game at a later date, but for now, it’s contents are a mystery, which is suitable for a game about an electric detective rodent. However, don’t get your hopes up for a Ryan Reynolds or Danny DeVito appearance.
