Ori and the Will of the Wisps Looks Beautiful in 4K, Might Make You Cry

Microsoft’s press conference today featured an impressive breadth of games, including everything from platform exclusives, to wacky appearances from celebrities, and of course familiar faces. Among the announcements is an exclusive title and sequel to 2015’s gorgeous, artful release Ori and the Blind Forest, titled Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

The debut came in the form of a trailer, as well as a live onstage piano performance that added emotion to the already affecting franchise’s latest entry. You can check out the trailer below, or the full conference here to get the live piano experience.

The trailer depicts a multitude of tear-jerking scenes, no small feat for an under three-minute preview. The game is described by Microsoft as follows.

Embark on an all new adventure to discover the mysteries beyond the forest of Nibel, uncover the hidden truths of those lost, and unravel Ori’s true destiny.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps lacks a release date just yet, but will display in 4K UHD on the new Xbox One X, and is an Xbox Play Anywhere title. Like most exclusives coming to the platform, it will also arrive on Windows in tandem with its console edition.
