Forza Motorsport 7 Announced Alongside Porsche Partnership

During its E3 press conference today, Microsoft revealed big news regarding its high-end Forza racing franchise. Following the announcement of the Xbox One X (formerly known for quite a while as Scorpio), Microsoft confirmed that Forza Motorsport 7 will come to the Xbox One family of systems on October 3rd of this year.

Rumors about the game leaked earlier today, but what you may not have known is that Microsoft has arranged an exclusive partnership with Porsche, a team-up that goes far beyond just simple vehicle licensing for the game. The Porsche 911 GTTRS, featuring the company’s “most powerful road-going engine ever made,” will debut in Forza Motorsport 7 when it launches.

Microsoft went on to discuss the highlights of Forza, including its 4.8 million active players across Windows and Xbox, making it “one of the most active racing games on the planet.” The game also intends to support “shocking levels of detail, super high-res textures and assets,” as well as “spectacular vistas” and “massive scale.”

Included in the demo was a look at the Hafeet Mountain Pass, a renowned course designed to show off the game’s 4K capability and high level of detail. The game will feature over 700 cars, including a vast collection of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Porsches, the largest ever across those three brands.
