Assassin’s Creed: Origins to Release October 27, According to Leak

Although the game is set in a desert, Assassin’s Creed: Origins has enough leaks to turn it into the Great Lakes. Last month, there was an anonymous Reddit user who confirmed the title and setting of the next in the series, then there was a pre-order card that backed up those claims, and now the release date has apparently been confirmed. Assassin’s Creed: Origins will be released on Oct. 27, 2017.

This leak comes courtesy of a leaked early copy of the next GameInformer magazine. A NeoGaf user posted pictures of this issue, which he apparently received early. The cover gives the tagline: “As an empire falls, a brotherhood rises,” and images within the fold confirm the release date of October 27. You can see the picture here:

There have been elaborate fakes before, like last week’s supposed video trailer that was confirmed to be fake, but this has such an easily verifiable source (GameInformer) that it would be much too hard to pull this off without GI blowing the whistle.

So, until further notice, we can look forward to a very Egyptian Halloween.
