Some players in Sons of the Forest are finding that the guitar is missing from its spawn location. Of course, the game is in early access, so bugs like this are to be expected. However, that doesn’t make the guitar not spawning any less frustrating. Fortunately, you can do a few things if it doesn’t show up for you.
How to spawn the guitar if it’s missing in Sons of the Forest
If the guitar is missing in Sons of the Forest, there are a few things you can do to get it to spawn:
- Leave the bunker, save, reload, and return.
- See if a friend will trade it to you.
- Spawn it with the command console.
Leave the bunker, save, reload, and return
The easiest fix for the guitar missing bug in Sons of the Forest is exiting the bunker, throwing down a temporary shelter, saving, and reloading the game. You can try just going back to the main menu and loading your save, but we recommend exiting the game entirely and relaunching it.
See if a friend will trade it to you
Sons of the Forest uses a P2P connection, and each player’s client validates item locations. So, the guitar might be bugged out in your game but can spawn perfectly normal in a friend’s. So, if you’re playing with someone, see if the guitar spawns for them and if they’re willing to trade with you.
Make sure you’re checking in the right area
Since Sons of the Forest is so popular, there are a lot of people posting incorrect information. Without spoiling the game too much, the guitar is found in a cave on the east part of the island. So, if you’re searching for it in the west, you’re in the wrong place.
Spawn it with the command console
You can spawn the guitar with the command console if all else fails. However, you’ll need to install the mods needed to open it beforehand. You can see the steps you need to do so in this guide.
Make sure to back up your save files before using the command console. You can find them here:
- Single-player:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Endnight\SonsOfTheForest\Saves#####\SinglePlayer##########
- Multiplayer:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Endnight\SonsOfTheForest\Saves#####\Multiplayer##########
Once you can access the command console, press F1 to open it. Then enter spawnworldobject guitar 1
. That should spawn one guitar near the player. If this doesn’t work, you can try spawnworldobject 340 1
.
Keep in mind that Sons of the Forest is in early access. So, commands could change in new updates. If that’s the case, the above method may not work anymore.
