The Quarry Black Bars: Can You Make It Full Screen Mode?

Not all players will be fans of The Quarry‘s black bars found at the top and bottom of the screen during cinematics and gameplay. Though it makes sense in terms of cinematic viewing and the overall wider shot, some may simply want to turn on a full screen mode. Here’s the need-to-know info on a potential full screen mode and how to remove the black bars.

How to remove The Quarry’s black bars and make it full screen

The Quarry Black Bars

To remove The Quarry’s black bars and make it full screen, players must adjust their display’s aspect ratio settings.

TV remotes usually come with an Aspect Ratio button or option in the settings menu. This allows users to crop into an image to make it take up more of the screen. This is obviously not as useful as an in-game full screen mode, but it will help those looking to remove the black bars at any cost.

As the output resolution will remain the same, zooming in on the image may have adverse effects on the video’s sharpness. What’s more, players may miss crucial gameplay elements like Tarot Cards by cropping off the edges when zooming in.

Is there a The Quarry full screen mode mod for PC?

At the time of writing, there aren’t yet any mods for The Quarry. This could change shortly after launch, however.

For those on PC, it’s possible that modders may come up with a full screen mode mod. Though, time will tell if this game receives any love from the modding community.

It’s also possible that developer Supermassive Games may add a full screen mode in a post-launch update. However, this would no doubt involve a lot of work and may go against the developer’s creative goals.

In other news, Forza Horizon 5 Expansion 1 has leaked ahead of an official announcement. The actress who starred in the Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding is rumored to be featuring in a new horror game. Rumors suggest a new Nintendo Direct will be dropping on June 15.
