Elden Ring Rune Multiplier: Does the Multiplier Increase for New Journeys?

The Elden Ring Rune multiplier is a vital tool that experienced players will use to rise quickly through the levels. Beginning with Journey 2 (new game plus), a multiplier kicks in that gives Runes a big boost. For those wondering if Journey 3 and beyond introduces a bigger multiplier, here’s the need-to-know information.

How to get the Elden Ring Rune multiplier

To get the Elden Ring Rune multiplier, players must beat the game and start “Journey 2” from the Roundtable Hold.

Once Journey 2 begins, the Rune multiplier will begin to affect all earned Runes. This is one of the main reasons that players start a new game plus, as it makes grinding up to the maximum level cap that much faster.

With the Rune multiplier in effect for a new Journey, players can revisit beaten bosses and take them down for increased rewards. This will be the post-completion loop for many.

Does the Elden Ring Rune multiplier increase for each new Journey?

The Elden Ring Rune multiplier does increase for each new Journey.

For Journey 3, we noted a 6% increase over Journey 2. This is pretty low when compared to the big boost given in Journey 2.

For those who are currently on Journey 2, it might not be worth hitting the new game plus button for a second time as the rewards are severely decreased. Of course, if you’re planning to keep beating Elden Ring until the end of time, then why not?

Hopefully, FromSoftware continues to update Elden Ring with more things to see and do with a new DLC expansion and/or content drops. For now, there’s always yet another Journey to complete!
