Are There Elden Ring DLC Plans or an Expansion Release Date?

Although Elden Ring has only been out for a couple of weeks, many players are already wondering when the game is going to get a DLC expansion for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. An Elden Ring DLC could take many forms, from PvP arenas to additional areas to explore and bosses to kill. Here’s all of the info on an Elden Ring DLC release date and potential expansions.

Is there an Elden Ring DLC release date?

An Elden Ring DLC release date has yet to be confirmed by developer FromSoftware.

With many of the Souls games getting post-launch DLC, as well as the PlayStation exclusive Bloodborne, many are hoping that FromSoftware will also be releasing DLC for Elden Ring. However, at the time of writing, the developer hasn’t yet mentioned anything about DLC plans or a roadmap.

Will there be Elden Ring expansions?

Though there hasn’t been any official mention of Elden Ring expansions, players have started to discover hidden arenas that are unused in the current build of the game.

YouTube user Lance McDonald shared footage of one of the arenas:

This arena is accessible by using a mod to go out of bounds and so isn’t intended to be visited under normal circumstances. It’s possible that this arena is being saved for future content, with many players thinking it will be a kind of PvP colosseum.

FromSoftware is no stranger to adding expansions to its games. With the success of Elden Ring, it’s clear that there are many potential customers for future DLC. It would be surprising if Elden Ring never received an expansion.

In other gaming news, the Elden Ring Steam concurrent player count has beaten the GTA 5 and Among Us records. Halo Infinite’s multiplayer lead has left 343 Industries. Kirby and the Forgotten Land now has a free demo available on the Nintendo eShop.
