Pokemon Legends Arceus Linking Cord location

Pokemon Legends: Arceus Linking Cord Location: How to perform trade evolutions

Finding the Linking Cord in Pokemon Legends: Arceus is essential to evolving three fan-favorite Pokemon. Trade evolutions work a bit differently in this game. Players will have to get an item in order for Graveler, Haunter, and Kadabra to evolve. Fortunately, it’s not too hard to find the Linking Cord location, though it’s not available from the start.

How to Get Linking Cord Pokemon Legends Arceus

In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the Linking Cord is sold at the Trading Post in the northwestern part of Jubilife Village. Players can purchase it for 1,000 Merit Points. This is a pretty steep price as Merit Points can only be obtained by returning lost satchels through the Lost & Found. Since each of these only gives around 50-100 Merit Points, it’ll take 10-20 satchels to purchase each Linking Cord.

Fortunately, players can obtain one Linking Cord for free from Request 64, “Getting to Know Ghosts.” All players have to do to complete this is to complete Gastly’s entry in the Pokedex. Gastly can be found in these locations:

  • Coronet Highlands:
    • Bolderoll Ravine
    • Celestica Ruins
    • Sacred Plaza
  • Crimson Mirelands:
    • Gapejaw Bog
    • Golden Lowlands
    • Scarlet Bog
    • Shrouded Ruins

Gastly’s are relatively common in these areas, and it shouldn’t take long to get enough research to unlock its full entry. After that, just head back to the NPC that issued the quest, and they’ll give you a Linking Cord.

Fortunately, there are only three Pokemon we’ve found so far that requires a Linking Cord to evolve:

  • Graveler → Golem
  • Haunter → Gengar
  • Kadabra → Alakazam

All three of these are great Pokemon, so it’s worth it to grind a little to get the item needed to evolve all three. As long as players get one of them for free, it won’t take too long to get the Merit Points required for the other two.
