Animal Crossing New Horizons 2.0 Update: How to play Happy Home Paradise DLC, why is it missing?

Animal Crossing New Horizons‘ 2.0 update was seemingly going to add its Happy Home Paradise DLC, but players are wondering how to play and unlock it as it is seemingly missing from the new patch. So is the Happy Home Paradise DLC missing, and how can ACNH players download it?

Why is Animal Crossing New Horizons’ Happy Home Paradise DLC missing?

The ACNH 2.0 update was seemingly going to add the Happy Home Paradise DLC, but that has not been the case — with the update having launched a day early, the DLC is still locked in for a November 5 release date, meaning players won’t be able to access it until tomorrow.

The good news is that this means the Happy Home Paradise DLC isn’t missing — it just hasn’t been added to the game yet. Those currently wandering around the island trying to figure out how to unlock it will be left empty-handed, as the only solution is to wait until tomorrow.

For some, this may be a relief. New Horizons has gone without a substantial update for months now, with Nintendo instead opting to drop a ton of new content in players’ laps within the same week. By giving players some time to talk to Brewster and set up The Roost cafe, along with figuring out the new Ordinances, it’s less overwhelming.

But for those who can’t wait to play the new DLC, you’ll have to wait a little longer for Happy Home Paradise. Given that this is an expansion, players won’t be able to change the in-game clock in order to unlock it sooner — it’ll only launch on November 5, its scheduled launch date. Nintendo hasn’t confirmed the exact time yet, but considering the 2.0 update launched in the early hours this morning, it could well follow a similar pattern.

In other news, a Nintendo November advent calendar was recently sent out to influencers. The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack was also recently released, to very mixed reviews.
