Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to find Brewster and get The Roost cafe

Animal Crossing: New Horizons update 2.0 is here and it finally adds Brewster to the game, and his shop, the Roost cafe. The fan-favorite pigeon is in the game but won’t just be walking around your island. As such, here’s how to find Brewster and get The Roost cafe, so you can add the new villager to your island.

Animal Crossing New Horizons how to find Brewster

Here’s how to find Brewster, and unlock his cafe The Roost, in the Animal Crossing 2.0 update.

  1. Head to the museum and talk to Blathers.
    • For this to work, you’ll need a three-star island. You’ll also need to have donated a sea creature to the museum before.
  2. Blathers will inform you about Brewster, his cafe The Roost, and his love of Gyroids. He’ll give you a picture of Brewster, too.
  3. Next, head to your island’s pier and talk to Kapp’n.
    • You’ll have to pay him for a tour of neighbouring islands, which will cost 1,000 Nook Miles.
  4. Kapp’n will take you to a new island. Explore this uncharted territory, and you’ll encounter Brewster there. He’ll give you a Gyroid, and send you back home.
  5. Go back to the museum and talk to Blathers, and tell him that you found Brewster.
    • Blathers will confirm that he’s on his way to the island, while also adding The Roost cafe in the museum.

As you can see, there are several steps to this, though generally speaking, it’s quite straightforward. When these steps are complete, your museum will shut for a day while Blathers completes the expansion, and then you’ll have Brewster as a new islander. The pigeon will be on your island in no time, to mark the final big expansion to Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
