Animal Crossing: New Horizons is set to get tons of new content in tomorrow’s update, which will also mark the beginning of the Nature Day event. In this guide, we’ll outline what you can get up to (and when) during the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nature Day festivities on Nintendo Switch.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nature Day start date and end date
The debut Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch title just finished celebrating Easter, and it’s already time to jump into another seasonal celebration. Today — that’s Wednesday, April 22 at the time of writing — marks Earth Day, which aims to promote environmental protection all around the world. That’s a message that the Animal Crossing series holds dear, so New Horizons is hosting an in-game Nature Day event from Thursday, 23 April to Monday, 4 May.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nature Day activities
Nintendo has advertised that a variety of limited-time Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nature Day activities are coming as part of the event. It seems that these will take the form of Nook Miles+ challenges, with the one showcased in the announcement trailer being to plant a total of three shrub starts for a cool 1,000 Nook Miles!
To complete that challenge, and presumably others, it appears as though you’ll need to interact with a new island visitor by the name of Leif. This green-thumbed sloth was introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf for Nintendo 3DS, and is set to make his return by randomly appearing in the Resident Services plaza with his portable Leif’s Garden Shop stand.
