2022 has only just started and there have been a bunch of The Flash movie leaks and rumors regarding how the upcoming DC Comics project will change the DCEU forever, if at all. Going by the DC Fandome teaser trailer from October and the little revealed about the movie, The Flash 2022 will present a version of the iconic Flashpoint storyline that completely altered DC in comics forever — so will the movie do the same and erase the Justice League?
All The Flash movie leaks and rumors right now
Here are all the leaks and rumors going around about The Flash movie at the start of 2022, and how likely they seem.
SUPERGIRL REPLACES SUPERMAN
A number of sources are claiming that one of the biggest things The Flash will introduce is the removal of Superman (Henry Cavill) in favor of Supergirl (Sasha Calle), who will be introduced in The Flash movie as, presumably, a Kryptonian from an alternate timeline. While Supergirl is almost certainly getting a movie — as opposed to an HBO Max series, which was also rumored — it seems unlikely that the main DC universe would completely do away with DC’s main hero, Superman.
As I’ve told u, w/ update:#TheFlash Batfleck’s final appearance. Old footage of Cavill used on TV.
New Justice League formed.
Supergirl is new Superman.
Keaton working w/ Black Canary, picks Batgirl as new Batman.
This is new DC, let’s be open minded & give it a fair shot.

MICHAEL KEATON IS BATMAN
It has been confirmed that Ben Affleck will be returning as the DCEU Batman in The Flash, but the big news regarding the movie — and the reason so many people compare it to Spider-Man: No Way Home — is that Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) will travel to the universe of 1989’s Batman (Michael Keaton). However, the rumor is that Keaton will actually continue as Batman in future movies, possibly even as soon as this year’s Batgirl — who he may be training to take over from him.

ZACK SNYDER’S MOVIES ERASED
One of the biggest and perhaps most upsetting rumors, for anyone who enjoyed Zack Snyder’s Justice League last year, is the suggestion that The Flash will essentially “erase” Zack Snyder’s movies from the DCEU and reboot the shared universe. Man of Steel and Batman V Superman were divisive but have a very strong fanbase, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League has fans desperately hoping for a sequel. Ezra Miller himself has seemingly denied this rumor, and they may not be “erased” as opposed to being “redone” — but after one of the best scenes in the Snyder Cut was The Flash saving the day, it would be an odd move to undo it.
Concerning The Flash stuff, I think people are using the term “erasing”
to an extreme, I don’t take it as them “erasing” anything it sounds more like a new universe is created using old and new elements with similar ideas and origins occurring, and that will be the main universe pic.twitter.com/mfe6sTx3P2— Chip Douglas (@TheComixKid) January 2, 2022
DIRECTOR’S CUT
One of the oddest rumors, considering the movie isn’t out yet, is that The Flash will get some sort of Special Edition or Director’s Cut. It’s not outside the realms of possibility, but it seems an unlikely thing to have been decided on before the movie has even had a proper trailer.
THE NEW JUSTICE LEAGUE
As part of these rumors, The Flash will seemingly introduce a completely new Justice League. The Flash, Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) will presumably still be on the team, but it will also include Batgirl (Leslie Grace), Supergirl (Sasha Calle), and even Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett) — who is apparently getting a big upgrade on her role after co-starring in Birds of Prey, with leaks suggesting Canary is getting her own HBO Max series too. There’s no word yet about Blue Beetle (Xolo Maridueña) or Cyborg (Ray Fisher).
Also yeah she's definitely gonna be on the team. https://t.co/RlLmlmadvW

Another hero who is rumored to be on the new Justice League is Shazam (Zachary Levi), whose next movie Fury of the Gods is out in 2023 and may even feature Wonder Woman. Shazam director David Sandberg reacted with surprise to this news, suggesting the rumor may be false — and why everything here should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Shazam is joining the Justice League? 2022 starting out with some great news! pic.twitter.com/yqdouOSiSc
