NieR: Automata’s Voice Changer Is Ridiculous

I have a confession to make… I can't stand 9S' voice in NieR: Automata. Given that he's one of the two main characters, that's been a bit of a problem, especially when playing as him.

It goes without saying that when I found out that you can change his voice using a voice changer, which is unlocked by beating the game your first time, I was elated. I quickly rushed to the Settings menu and tried every option possible.

The voice changer in NieR: Automata is a thing of beauty. It doesn't just allow you to scale the pitch of the character's voice, but also provides robotic options that are nearly incomprehensible—in a good way. Given how dialog driven the game is, and its tendency to veer into the realm of ridiculousness, this practically adds play value to the game as far as I'm concerned.

I recorded a couple minutes of what it's like, which you can see in the video above.

After spending an hour testing it out, I refuse to go back to 9S' default voice. While I'm not settled on whether I prefer having him sound like a chipmunk or a demented circus robot, I like my options.
