Despite Square Enix releasing the HD upgrade for Kingdom Hearts 2 on PlayStation 3, Nintendo has retained the top sales spot in the far east with Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, moving an added 100,000 units to bring its total sold to just under 1.5 million.
Of the five top software sellers in Japan, Nintendo 3DS held three spots though PlayStation Vita owners also snapped up Danganronpa: Another Episode and The Legend of Heroes: Sen no Kiseki II in droves. The second title also outsold its PlayStation 3 counterpart, showing momentum for Sony's handheld platform in the region.
