Sony to Cut PlayStation 3 Price in Japan

Sony's PlayStation 3 hardware has done exceedingly well for itself over the past few years, especially as in-demand software drove sales though Japanese gamers (or anyone looking to import) will be happy to hear that the latest model is getting a price cut.

A 500GB "Charcoal Black" PS3 will go from ¥30,837 to ¥28,058. Current models will start getting phased out, so expect to see more and more retail PS3 units with "CECH-4300C". The price cut will go in effect on August 28th.
