George R.R. Martin’s Personal Assistant Assigned to Telltale’s Game of Thrones

Telltale Games will not be dicking around with Game of Thrones.

Understanding the poor reception of the original video game adaptation for Game of Thrones by Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Games, Telltale Games and HBO wishes to treat the source material with utmost care and respect, Martin's personal assistant and sci-fi author himself, Ty Corey Franck, has been assigned the role of "story consultant" on the series, according to The New York Times.

The partnership between Telltale Games and HBO, announced last year at the VGX Awards in December, is a multi-year investment on both parties. Any lackluster moments by fans of both the TV adaptation and A Song of Ice and Fire book series will be met with scorn, to say the least.

Given the popularity and critical success of Telltale's The Walking Dead, the potential for its Game of Thrones adaptation should not be treated lightly, like some random Targaryen girl with eggs. Let's just hope that Telltale Games has enough time and resources to develop the series properly while taking care of the second season of The Walking Dead and the third season of The Wolf Among Us.
