To have players try out Nvidia DLSS 3 more easily, those who own Portal will be able to download Portal With RTX for free starting in November. This “ray-traced reimagining” of Portal remasters the game using Nvidia DLSS 3 and Nvidia Reflex.
Nvidia DLSS 3 is built on top of DLSS Super Resolution, which is available on other GeForce GPUs. The technology behind DLSS 3 is complex and involves multiple components working together, but it essentially analyzes game frames, game engine data, and pixel-level information to insert additional intermediate frames seamlessly into gameplay. Nvidia claims that this will boost frame rates in some games by up to 4 times, and can double CPU-bound performance.
In other news, the EVGA Nvidia partnership has ended due to a “souring relationship” between both companies, and a new Iron Man game has been confirmed by EA, Marvel, and Motive Studio.
