Square Enix wants you to get your MMORPG friends back by announcing the Final Fantasy 14 Callback Campaign, which will award you bonus rewards for getting offline players back into the fold. Starting today and ending on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 1:00 AM PDT / 4:00 AM EDT / 8:00 GMT, players who get returning friends to resubscribe will earn Gold Chocobo Feathers. Those coming back will be offered Silver Chocobo Feathers instead as well as many other extra items. These Chocobo Feathers can then be exchanged for special items at specific vendors in the game.
How to invite friends back for Final Fantasy 14 Callback Campaign
A new option labelled “Invite Friend to Return” has been added to several menus. By selecting an offline friend from your in-game friends list or in the member list for a free company, you can select this new option, which will promptly send an e-mail to the player. That player must have been inactive for at least 90 days and must have purchased and registered FF14 to a service account; otherwise, they won’t receive the email in the first place.
To make things simple, you’ll be notified if the player you’ve invited back doesn’t meet the requirements, and to prevent spamming, anyone being invited to return will only receive one email a day that includes all the names of people inviting the person back. Each character with a registered service account can send an invite up to five times, with this limit resetting after 30 days.
Gold and Silver Chocobo Feather rewards list
Players who successfully get friends to come back and resubscribe within 90 days of their return will receive 5 Gold Chocobo Feathers. On the other end, those who accept the invitation emails will get 10 Silver Chocobo Feathers, along with 99 Aetheryte Tickets for gil-free teleportation and 14 days of free play.
Here’s a list of items that can be redeemed by trading Chocobo Feathers with Calamity Salvagers NPCs (located in Old Gridania, Limsa Lominsa, and Ul’dah):
- Twintania Neurolink Key – 15 Gold Chocobo Feathers
- Amber Draught Chocobo Whistle – 8 Gold Feathers
- Managarm Horn – 8 Gold Feathers
- Rare Dye x5 – 1 Gold Feather
- Aetheryte Ticket x10 – 1 Gold Feather
- Level 20 Weapon (Item Level 22) – 1 Silver Feather
- Level 50 Equipment (Item Level 130) – 5 Silver Feathers
- Level 60 Equipment (Item Level 270) – 5 Silver Feathers
- Level 70 Equipment (Item Level 400) – 5 Silver Feathers
- Level 80 Equipment (Item Level 530) – 5 Silver Feathers
