Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth no cut content

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Won’t Cut Locations, but You May Visit Them in a Different Order

Cut content is one of the biggest fears fans have about the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy. While Square Enix substantially expanded the Midgar portion of the original, there are doubts that other areas will get the same treatment. However, the devs have promised that won’t be the case and that the team will include all the locations from the 1997 release in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and its sequel.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy will have all the locations from the original

Yoshinori Kitase and Tetsuya Nomura promised that one of the main policies when making the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy is to avoid cutting any content from the original. According to translated interview from DualShockers, the remaining two parts won’t be sped-up or missing swathes of content. In fact, it seems like despite the new narrative elements, the team plans for the plot to not heavily deviate from the original.

Considering plot elements from Final Fantasy 7 Remake makes sense that the journey would follow the same beats. The Whispers are opposed to any changes to the original timeline. Also, despite knowing something weird is going on with reality, Cloud and the rest of the party don’t know the particulars. As such, they’ll likely follow the same route and chase Sephiroth through Junon and across the ocean to the Western Continent.

However, the crew won’t necessarily visit each location in the same order according to Nomura:

“The story’s main frame remains unchanged. As for the newly added mysteries, these will be intriguing even for those familiar with the original game. However, seeing the changes that the Remake trilogy brings to the table, a portion of the story will progress differently than in the original game. When you get to play Rebirth, you might be led to believe that certain locations from the original game were cut. However, our policy during development is to avoid cutting any content from the original. And it’s simply that you’ll visit certain locations and experience certain events in a different order than in the original.”

We can’t wait to see it all when Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth releases in Holiday 2023.

In other news, we know when the Wii U and 3DS eShops are closing, and the latest Forza Horizon 5 adds Hot Wheels back once again.
