Paramount is combining Paramount+ and Showtime into a single service. With the streaming wars continuing, every movie studio has been experimenting with a platform of movie and TV content, such as Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix, and Hulu. This is the latest news surrounding the new Paramount+/Showtime bundle.
Paramount+ Showtime Bundle
Starting on August 31, subscribers to Paramount+ will be able to upgrade their subscription to a bundle that includes all the content on Paramount+ and Showtime. While Paramount has offered a similar bundle for around a year, they are finally adding Showtime to the app, allowing you to access both on one platform.
If you subscribe from now until October 2, you can get a limited-time discount on the bundle. The Paramount+ with Showtime bundle offers an Essential plan (with ads) at $7.99 a month and $12.99 a month for a Premium plan (no ads). After October 2, the Essential plan will cost $11.99 a month, and the Premium plan will cost $14.99 a month. Paramount will not run ads on Showtime content for viewers who have purchased the Essential or Premium plan.
Paramount+ offers a large movie library, including originals such as Orphan: First Kill, Secret Headquarters, Honor Society, and Jerry & Marge Go Large. Their original TV series include Ink Master, SEAL Team, All Star Shore, 1883, iCarly, The Good Fight, Rugrats, Star Trek: Discovery, and Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butthead.
Showtime offers many TV series such as Billions, Yellowjackets, City on a Hill, The First Lady, and The Man Who Fell to Earth. Those only looking to purchase a Showtime subscription can still buy it for $10.99 a month. The combination of two streaming services may provide a model for HBO Max and Discovery+, which will be merged into a single platform in the summer of 2023.
