The Pokemon McDonald’s 2022 promotion has arrived with a newly numbered set for the trading card game, as well as new toys, coins, and spinner toys. You’ll be able to find these random limited-time items in Happy Meals at participating chains from now until September 26 in the US. The full McDonald’s card set will consist of 15 prints, with each card having foil and non-foil versions.

McDonald’s has confirmed that the Pokemon deal will be returning today in the US on its official Twitter account. As revealed by site Pokebeach through images sent exclusively by McDonald’s employee @Drakers_12, this year’s promotion will be similar to last year’s 25th anniversary deal, which was extremely successful in hyping the Pokemon TCG.
Every Happy Meal will come with a 4-card booster pack, with one foil card and three non-foil cards which will be reprints from older sets. Getting the full 30-card set will be a bit easier than getting the larger set from last year’s Pokemon set from McDonald’s. Along with the booster pack, each Happy Meal will come with a TCG coin and “Match Battle” spinner toy. The toys and coins will rotate every week, featuring Rowlet, Smeargle, Pikachu, Victini, Gossifleur, and Growlithe in two different colors each (with more details in the image below). The cards will not be impacted by a weekly rotation.

We’ll have to see if McDonald’s is able to enforce some policies for this event, as last year’s promotion had some people purchase the full stock of Happy Meals right when shipments were delivered. The fast food chain eventually had to place limitations on the promotion, and this time around they may be more stipulations to ensure that everyone has a better shot at getting the full set before it’s scalped on various auction sites.
In other news, the MultiVersus season 1 battle pass has been a big disappointment so far, and the second wave of Xbox Game Pass games for August 2022 has been scheduled.
