Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure
[Review] - Released September 24th, 2013
rn
rnScribblenauts returns to Gotham City, Metropolis, and other DC Comics locales wherever you are thanks to a solid port to Nintendo 3DS. The Nintendo-exclusive Scribblenauts adventure packs in tons of heroes, villains, weapons, vehicles, settings, and challenges, all while giving our hero Maxwell a supercharged notebook for truly off-the-wall combinations. If you’re new 3DS owner after the holiday season and you like Batman, Supes, and even Aquaman, this should be an easy choice with a GameStop gift card. -
Ikachan
[Review] - Released January 31st, 2013
rn
rnThis eShop download is also playable for free online, but on 3DS the sprites and bits look great both with the 3D on full-blast and off. The old-school graphics belie unique gameplay and some incredibly nostalgic music. The game is only $2.99 on the eShop too, so it’d be a good use of any extra change from a gift card spent on Earthbound for Wii U or after purchasing Phoenix Wright’s download-only Dual Destinies. -
LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins
[Review] - Released April 21st, 2013
rn
rnWii U fans of Lego City Undercover don’t need to look very far when it comes to taking the brick-breaking adventure on the road with you. The Chase Begins takes place about two years before the Wii U game, so you don’t need to have played it to start the adventure on 3DS. While the handheld experience doesn’t hold up to the open-world on console, it’s still a great 3DS game many missed earlier this year. -
Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move
[Review] - Released May 9th, 2013
rn
rnMario and Donkey Kong have been at each other’s throats in some form or another for decades now, but their latest collaboration isn’t about go-karting or tennis or even teaching kids the value of math with Donkey Kong Jr. Instead, players get to gather mini-Marios and mini-Donkey Kongs by puzzling through dozens of challenging levels. Using the touch screen to place titles and direct the precious toys to the goal is challenging enough, but collecting every medal in the game will keep you occupied for quite some time. -
Luigi\'s Mansion: Dark Moon
[Review] - Released March 24th, 2013
rn
rnThis sequel to the classic GameCube launch game takes Luigi back to a haunted mansion where he’ll have to puzzle through each room and tackle ghosts and ghouls as they come. Bosses require thought and cunning while reeling in every ghost will net you some big points. The game also features a cooperative multiplayer mode that supports local download play for up to four players. If you got your 3DS for Pokemon or Zelda, don’t forget about Luigi! -
3DS Games You Missed In 2013
rnNintendo 3DS is the hottest video game hardware available right now, despite brand-new consoles from Microsoft and Sony even. Looking at the software available throughout 2013, it’s quickly easy to see why so many gamers have flocked to Nintendo’s line of portable hardware. We’re all about the software and it was way too easy to put together a list of 10 3DS games you didn’t play in 2013. -
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies
[Review] - Released October 24th, 2013
rn
rnLegal minds like Phoenix Wright’s can probably deduce why Capcom decided to take their beloved courtroom drama series to the eShop exclusively, but that just means more 3DS owners probably missed the latest Ace Attorney game. Dual Destinies introduces new characters and unleashes the first M-rated legal brief in the franchise. -
Project X Zone
[Review] - Released June 25th, 2013
rn
rnWith Namco Bandai Games, Capcom, and Sega all on board, Banpresto and Monolith Soft set out to make the biggest crossover event in gaming history. What came out of this epic collaboration can be described as a strategy game, but there’s gobs of fan service for Japanese gaming fiends everywhere. Don’t be intimidated if you don’t recognize every character. The developers took the kitchen-sink approach with this one. -
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers
[Review] - Released April 16th, 2013
rn
rnRemember our affinity for Atlus games? It doesn’t stop with Etrian Odyssey. While we’d hope many hardcore gamers with new Nintendo 3DS handhelds have already picked up RPGs like Fire Emblem: Awakening and Shin Megami Tensei IV, I doubt many have picked up the classic Sega Saturn SMT spin-off, Soul Hackers. You can only play this game in English on Nintendo 3DS. -
The Starship Damrey
[Screenshots] - Released May 16th, 2013
rn
rnWe want to make sure everyone gets something out of these lists and I can guarantee that many, including us here at GameRevolution, let this unique survival horror game slip past them. New 3DS owners shouldn’t feel bad for missing out on the Guild 01 or 02 series of downloadable games from Level-5, but rectify that now with this or one of the many other games on Nintendo eShop. -
Etrian Odyssey IV
[Demo Details] - Released February 26th, 2013
rn
rnAt GameRevolution, we love Atlus’s no-holds-barred brand of hardcore Japanese gaming and if you’ve never drawn a map on your 3DS touchscreen, you might not understand why Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan can be so low-fi and yet so satisfying at the same time. There’s a decidedly deep and involved experience to uncover in IV and in Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl. Newcomers to the series might want to go with The Millennium Girl and its story mode, but if you’ve gotten your hands dirty with JRPGs before, join the Legend of the Titan.
