Five games to play with all the family
Outright Games announced new titles from Paw Patrol, DC Justice League, LOL Surprise!, Star Trek Prodigy, and Dreamworks Dragons: The Nine Realms during their Unwrapped Presentation. All of these will be coming to consoles and PC later this year. You can find more about the new games below.
DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of the Nine Realms
A new generation of dragons — Plowhorn, Wu & Wei, Feathers, and Thunder — need to make their way through five unexplored realms and defeat gigantic bosses in a bid to rescue Thunder’s family in DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of the Nine Realms. To do this they’ll need to unlock special abilities and upgrade their speed, strength, and intelligence. Challenge Mode will then feature replayable levels that become more difficult after the first time they are completed. The single-player action-adventure game will be coming from A Heartful of Games this fall on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and PC.
Paw Patrol: Grand Prix
Paw Patrol: Grand Prix is a kart racer that supports up to four players in local co-op as they race around eleven tracks like Adventure Bay, Jake’s Snowboarding Resort, and the Jungle in a bid to win the Pup Grand Prix. Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Rubble, Zuma, Skye, and Ryder will all have their own skills that need to be charged up by collecting pup treats, and vehicles can be fully customized. There are also six power-ups and boosts that can be used to thwart opponents but beware of the obstacles Mayor Humdinger will lay down from his blimp. 3D Clouds’ game will be arriving on September 30 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and PC.
LOL Surprise! B.B.s Born to Travel
LOL Surprise! B.Bs Born To Travel is a multiplayer arcade fashion game where up to four players unbox their own L.O.L. Surprise! doll. They then bring it to life by collecting glitter, hearts, diamonds, and more. The game takes place across five cities like Glitter City and Watery Ways and players must create their own LOL Surprise! balls to be given to waiting customers in levels that look incredibly similar to the Overcooked! franchise. Completing all 30 stages unlocks more characters and stickers that can be displayed in fashion shows and music concerts. Xaloc Studios’ game will be arriving on October 7 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and PC.
Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova
Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova features young aliens Dal and Gwyn who respond to strange readings from a dying star only to find they need to rescue their crewmates Jankom Pog, Rok-Tahk, Zero, and Murf after they’re captured. The alien worlds of Orisi, Mirios, and Taresse will each have their own environments, puzzles, and challenges to overcome. Along the way, the duo will discover a new alien species that is set on destroying the U.S.S. Protostar, but they can’t let that happen. Tessera Studios’ action-adventure game supports one or two players and will arrive on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and PC in October.
DC Justice League (working title)
Very few details were revealed about the game based on the Justice League, although the very brief trailer confirmed the appearance of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Cyborg, and Aquaman. The game will be released in 2023 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
In other news, Pokemon Go is introducing new social features to encourage players to return to local raid battles. Elsewhere, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards was added to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack today.
