A new Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 villain rumor suggests that one of the most intriguing characters of the Marvel universe may be making their way to the MCU: Herbert Wyndham, better known as the High Evolutionary. What’s more, the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 High Evolutionary rumor suggests that the villain may be posited as the creator of Rocket Raccoon, so the movie may explore Rocket’s true origin at last.
What is the Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 villain rumor?
The new rumor about the villain in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 comes from The GWW Editor-in-Chief KC Walsh, via Walsh’s appearance on the Change My Mind podcast, who states that the Marvel villain the High Evolutionary will be the main antagonist. When asked about some further scoops, Walsh said that “this is a thing that’s been floating around, the villain of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is the High Evolutionary.”
The former human scientist Herbert Wyndham has a long and varied history in the comics. His own origin begins in 1966 and has connections to Wanda Maximoff, Galactus, Spider-Woman, the Darkhold, Thor, Hulk, and upcoming Guardians character Adam Warlock. He has become a godlike being more than once and was responsible for the Avengers Evolutionary War saga in the ’80s. He’s also the leading geneticist of the Marvel universe so KC Walsh’s assertion that Vol 3 will position the High Evolutionary as “the one who created Rocket” is an interesting idea, even if that’s not something he’s responsible for doing in the comics.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 has a release date of May 2023, with a Christmas special due for Holiday 2022. For now, the Guardians of the Galaxy game is out now and is better scoring than the latest MCU movie Eternals. Our own reviewer liked it a lot despite some issues, adding that it’s “not another Avengers-level missed opportunity.”
