Doctor Strange 2 trailer rumored to be shown during Spider-Man: No Way Home

A new Doctor Strange 2 trailer rumor suggests that the teaser for the next Marvel Cinematic Universe movie may be attached to this week’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, but not in the way fans might expect. In fact, the new rumor about the Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness teaser states that it’ll actually be a Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credits scene — and Marvel has responded somewhat cryptically.

Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credits may feature a Doctor Strange 2 trailer

The rumor floating around states that the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer will actually appear this week in the form of the second Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credits scene, presumably the one right at the end of the credits. Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) will appear, who is still searching the multiverse for her children as established at the end of WandaVision. New hero America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) will also show up in the trailer, and both herself and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will get attacked by the Wanda-summoned monster Gigantos.

A few of these details match up with what fans already know. Wanda has already been confirmed as appearing in the Doctor Strange sequel, and Strange and America Chavez will fight the one-eyed Gigantos at some point thanks to a leaked LEGO set. Furthermore, the most recent Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer ends with Strange being panicked about problems with the multiverse, which seems like more of a tease for his movie rather than Spider-Man.

Disney’s president of marketing Asad Ayaz actually responded to a tweet about this rumor in the most cryptic manner possible, merely saying “What” without even punctuation. Responding at all suggests a denial of it happening but with all the leaks and spoilers already out for Spider-Man: No Way Home, not to mention other teasing comments exactly like this, it’s hard to tell.

Regardless, Spider-Man: No Way Home releases this week, so fans will find out soon enough whether or not this rumor is true.
