God of War releases on PC storefronts early next year. The announcement comes officially from PlayStation, after months of rumors that their exclusive title would jump ship in the future. For PC owners, it’s the perfect opportunity to experience Kratos’ latest adventure without having to purchase PlayStation hardware. We’ve got all the details on the God of War PC release date, so you know when it’s coming out.
When is the God of War PC release date?
God of War will release on PC on January 14, 2022.
The news was first shared by the official PlayStation Twitter. It revealed that one of their key franchises would make the swap to PC. God of War isn’t the first PlayStation exclusive to land on PC, as Uncharted 4 will get a PC launch in the near future.
Excitingly, God of War will receive a range of performance boosts in its PC release. PlayStation confirms that it’ll run at 4K resolution on supported devices, with an unlocked framerate. There are other minor visual tweaks too, with “higher resolution shadows,” as well as “improved screen space reflections,” making it the best-looking version of the game yet.
On top of that, it’ll have extensive NVIDIA DLSS support, meaning you’ll be able to hit peak graphical output without a change in performance. PlayStation also confirms that the God of War PC port will support 21:9 ultra-widescreen monitors.
How to pre-order God of War on PC
Excitingly, pre-orders are already live for God of War on PC. Not long after it was announced, an official Steam page has appeared, with the game costing slightly less than normal retail price at $49.99. There’s also an Epic Games Store page, so you’ll be able to play it regardless of your PC marketplace of choice.
In other PlayStation news, we’ve also got details on whether Inscryption has a PS4 or PS5 release date. Elsewhere, a new No Man’s Sky update landed today – and it seems to pay tribute to Dune.
