Battlefield 2042 launch delayed ‘by several weeks,’ report suggests

Is the release date of Battlefield 2042 delayed? A number of Battlefield 2042 rumors have been going around suggesting that the game is going to be delayed from its current October 22 launch date to at best November or at worst several months later. This is all according to prominent leaker Tom Henderson, who often focuses on Battlefield 2042 has had several scoops proven correct in the past — including the reveal of Battlefield Portal.

Is Battlefield 2042 delayed?

Battlefield 2042 delayed

Battlefield 2042 may be getting delayed out of October, although according to reliable leaker Tom Henderson the delay may not be too bad — although it will only be “by several weeks” and the game will arrive in late November if Henderson is correct, which is far better than the potential delay to 2022 that has been rumored recently.

According to Henderson, this is all being discussed “internally” right now between DICE/Ripple Effect and EA, although fans shouldn’t have to wait long to find out if Henderson is correct — he suggests the delay will be announced by EA before the end of this week, so in the next 2-3 days.

The bad news for Battlefield 2042, if this leak is accurate, is this will mean the game gets released after its main competitor Call of Duty: Vanguard, which currently has a release date of November 5. The better news for fans, according to Henderson, is that the next Battlefield 2042 beta may not be delayed and should still arrive on September 22 — despite the game’s first technical playtest receiving several delays.

Tom Henderson mostly focuses on leaks for Battlefield and Call of Duty, but he did get in the news recently with his report about how GTA 6 wouldn’t be out until 2025 at the earliest, which got corroborated by several sources. As for Battlefield 2042, if the game is getting delayed hopefully it’s to ensure that it’s the best Battlefield game ever and not a complete buggy mess.
