Gotham Knights action figures confirmed by Todd McFarlane Nightwing leak

A potential Gotham Knights Nightwing figure has been leaked by none other than Todd McFarlane, creator of the anti-hero Spawn and renowned artist. McFarlane is also the owner of an action figure company that does a lot of work with comics and games characters, and this leak suggests that a range of Gotham Knights action figures is coming alongside the eagerly-anticipated game when it releases next year.

How was the Gotham Knights Nightwing figure leaked?

The Nightwing action figure from Gotham Knights was revealed by Todd McFarlane himself on Instagram, as part of a video advertising job opportunities at McFarlane Toys. The Nightwing figure was shown off as an example of before and after painting, and is very clearly based on the character’s design in Gotham Knights as opposed to the comics or even Batman: Arkham Knight — the blue shoulder pads and face give it away for sure.

Since it’s highly unlikely that McFarlane Toys would produce just one figure for the game, it probably can be assumed that fans should be seeing a range of Gotham Knights figures. The toy company has been working with DC for a while now, right up to figures based on this month’s The Suicide Squad movie. It also wasn’t the only Gotham Knights tease this week, as game director Geoff Ellenor posted his first comment on the game’s development in a long time yesterday. With the next DC Fandome event coming in October, fans are undoubtedly hoping to see more from Gotham Knights soon.

Gotham Knights was also in the news yesterday as the game’s Robin, Tim Drake, just came out as bisexual in the comics. As for Todd McFarlane, beyond toy design he’s also the artist behind several major comic book series, including Batman: Year Two — which the upcoming The Batman movie is based on.
