Warner Bros. Games has finally announced that the Gotham Knights release date will be October 25, 2022. Revealing the information through a tweet on the official account for Gotham Knights, the developer simply states that “Gotham will always need its heroes. Suit up for an all-new adventure on 10.25.22.”
The long road for Gotham Knights
As a friendly reminder, Gotham Knights is an open-world game where players are put in the tight superhero shoes of Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood, and Batgirl as they attempt to secure Gotham City after the death of Bruce Wayne. (That said, the voice cast hints otherwise.)
While players can choose to defeat the goons of Dr. Freeze and Penguin alone using a wide array of weapons and abilities, the main feature is being able to play co-operatively with another Bat-hero. Created by WB Games Montreal, the same studio behind Batman Arkham Origins, the game is led by creative director Patrick Redding of Splinter Cell fame.

The Gotham Knights release date has been a point of contention and speculation. Gotham Knights previously announced a year-long delay all the way back in March 2021 in order to give “the game more time to deliver the best possible experience for players.” With the Covid pandemic, this was more than understandable at the time.
Then a developer for Gotham Knights in a since-deleted tweet in October 2021 stated that the release date would be “coming soon,” while figurines for Gotham Knights had been revealed by Todd McFarlane. Hopefully, fans won’t be too disappointed that “coming soon” means more than seven months from now, but given the cases for Cyberpunk 2077 and Babylon’s Fall, getting the game right at the release date is more important.
In other news, the license for the WWE franchise could switch from 2K to EA and Lost Ark will eventually fix their gender-locked classes and add less-revealing female outfits.
