Back 4 Blood longer throw

Back 4 Blood players surprised to discover a longer throw option

Is there a Back 4 Blood longer throw option for grenades, molotovs, and other items? Players using the Back 4 Blood beta grenades and other thrown items may have been shocked to discover the throwing range is incredibly weedy, and are probably wondering if there is some sort of card ability to improve it or whether it’ll just get buffed in the final version. However, it turns out that’s not the case, and there is a Back 4 Blood further throw option available at all times — players just have to stop playing the game like Left 4 Dead.

Is there a Back 4 Blood longer throw option, ability, or upgrade?

Back 4 Blood longer throw

There is a longer throw option available by default in Back 4 Blood, it is not an unlockable ability or card power. Unlike in Left 4 Dead, where players simply aim in the direction they want and click the throw button, all players have to do to throw items further in Back 4 Blood is simply hold down the throw button. This creates a circular area which the grenade, molotov, etc. will land in the center of, and also shows the area of destruction affected by the throwing item.

It’s an incredibly useful feature that Back 4 Blood does not tell players about at all, which has surprised a lot of the game’s fans who have presumably been playing the beta exactly like Left 4 Dead — and have apparently racked up quite a few suicides and accidentally team kills as a result. Unfortunately, while this feature works with the player’s equipped throwing items such as grenades, it does not work with larger explosive items such as gas canisters.

Back 4 Blood is currently in closed beta, but will hit open beta later this week so all fans can give it a go. It’s certainly a fun successor to Left 4 Dead, despite a few changes, but don’t expect to see a Versus Campaign feature similar to Valve’s series coming anytime soon.
