Smash Ultimate pro Nairoby Quezada, known as Nairo in the fighting game community, has been accused of sexual abuse by retired Smash pro Zack “CaptainZack” Lauth. The allegations include Nairo engaging in a sexual relationship with CaptainZack when the former was 20 years old and the latter was 15 years old.
In a Twitlonger post titled ‘I’m Tired of Living a Life of Lies,’ Zack alleges that Nairo began a sexual relationship with Nairo at the Smash tournament CEO Dreamland 2017. Dreamland takes place in Orlando, Florida, where the age of consent is 18 years old.
“I started playing in smash tournaments when I was 12 years old. 3 years later, when I was 15 years old, I had my first sexual encounter at a smash tournament,” Zack said. “CEO Dreamland 2017 Friday night, April 14th, was the first time anything happened with Nairo, him being 20 years old at the time. Luckily I recorded all of my actions with someone on discord. They’re verifiable with timestamps that coincide with others who I had messaged.”

Zack also posted a series of Discord messages between him and an unnamed friend posted in 2017, where he shared details of his alleged experiences with Nairo. Zack notes that while he was “the one initiating,” there was a significant age gap between the pair and he did not want to be “manipulated into feeling like this was my fault any longer.”
Zack also posted a series of PayPal transactions he claims were sent by Nairo and his brother, which were allegedly sent in order to keep him quiet. These include a $2,000 transactions, which Zack claims Nairo made after the pair shared a phonecall. Nairo allegedly requested that Zack delete all communications between the pair.
Gavin “Tweek” Dempsey, another Smash pro who is mentioned in CaptainZack’s claims, also posted to clarify that he knew of Zack’s and Nairo’s relationship though had “told Zack not to go [to Nairo’s room] and he did and did not come back that night.”
