Pro Smash player and commentator Cinnamon “Cinnpie” Dunson has been accused of sexual abuse by fellow Smash Pro Puppeh. Cinnpie is best known for being engaged to prolific Smash player WaDi, though their relationship ended sometime in 2017. According to her Twitch profile, she’s also worked as a “professional esports commentator” directly for Nintendo and Top 8 of EVO.

Puppeh posted the allegations today on Twitter, recounting abuse he faced from Cinnpie during 2016. According to the post, Puppeh was 14, and Cinnpie was 24 when she initiated a relationship with him. Puppeh’s account stated that Cinnpie began sexually-tinged conversations with him on Snapchat, but that things didn’t become physical until the summer of 2016. While on (middle) school vacation, he began touring Smash events and seeing more of her. This eventually culminated in a relationship that ultimately escalated to oral sex between the two.
Puppeh explained that during their relationship, Cinnpie would continually check-in to make sure he deleted messages between the two. She also made it clear that he could never tell anyone about her romantic and sexual advances toward him. He went on to say that the experience was traumatic for him.
There’s no statute of limitations with sexual crimes in Virginia, and if these accusations are true, she could be prosecuted under Virginia § 18.2-63:
§ 18.2-63. Carnal knowledge of child between thirteen and fifteen years of age.
A. If any person carnally knows, without the use of force, a child thirteen years of age or older but under fifteen years of age, such person shall be guilty of a Class 4 felony.
B. If any person carnally knows, without the use of force, a child thirteen years of age or older but under fifteen years of age who consents to sexual intercourse and the accused is a minor and such consenting child is three years or more the accused’s junior, the accused shall be guilty of a Class 6 felony. If such consenting child is less than three years the accused’s junior, the accused shall be guilty of a Class 4 misdemeanor.
In calculating whether such child is three years or more a junior of the accused minor, the actual dates of birth of the child and the accused, respectively, shall be used.
C. For the purposes of this section, (i) a child under the age of thirteen years shall not be considered a consenting child and (ii) “carnal knowledge” includes the acts of sexual intercourse, cunnilingus, fellatio, anilingus, anal intercourse, and animate and inanimate object sexual penetration.
In Virginia, a Class 4 felony is punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a fine up to $100,000. Additionally, if convicted, she would have to register as a sex offender after release.
Soon after Puppeh came forward, Smash player Glyphmoney also came forward with their own allegations directed at Cinnpie. There are many overlapping details in both accounts.
As of writing, Cinnpie has not released a comment about these allegations. However, it appears as though she changed her Twitter name from “SPEAK UP” to “Do your best.”
