Kojima Productions closes offices after employee gets sick

Kojima Productions has closed their offices in Tokyo, Japan after one of the company’s employees fell ill. With most of the world battling the ongoing pandemic, the Death Stranding developer has acted swiftly to protect its employees and ensure that operations continue as normal.

The unnamed employee had been at home since March 20, 2020. While it’s not necessarily possible for anyone else to have gotten infected, the company is being understandably cautious and have shut down their offices entirely.

“We are working closely with public health authorities and they have informed us that since this employee was not in the office at the time of symptoms onset, all other KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS

employees are not considered ‘close contacts’, meaning that it is not mandatory to close the office,” stated the press release.

However, they’ve nonetheless decided to play it safe and take additional measures to keep everyone safe. Here are the measures they’re taking as noted in a press release:

  • Temporarily close the office floor
  • Sanitize all office facilities
  • All working staff will now work remotely
  • Supervise and support for the health condition of all staff

Work on Kojima Productions projects will likely continue normally via remote work for the foreseeable future.
